Ukraine withdraws forces from eastern city of Avdiivka

Russian forces raised their flag in the eastern Ukrainian city of Avdiivka Saturday after Ukrainian troops withdrew from what had been a Ukrainian stronghold and symbol of resistance since Russia’s invasion nearly two years ago. This comes as a bipartisan foreign aid package that would provide much needed security assistance to Ukraine remains stalled in the House after it passed this week in the Senate.
