In the new series Shrinking, starring Jason Segel and Harrison Ford, we see a grieving therapist who’s a little too honest with his clients. Apple TV+ just unveiled the trailer for the upcoming comedy—and it seems to be just what our ever-expanding television watchlist needed.
Shrinking is a light-hearted comedy infused with satire and a bit of dark humor. Essentially perfect for those who want a good laugh while possibly learning a few lessons.
The new series marks the second major television role for Ford—the Hollywood actor who’s known for his role in Indiana Jones and lately in the Yellowstone prequel, 1923.

What is ‘Shrinking’ about?
The series follows Jimmy Laird (Jason Segel), a man grieving the recent loss of his wife. As a therapist himself—you’d assume that Jimmy would navigate a dark time like this smoothly. But that couldn’t be further from the truth. Facing this heart-breaking dilemma has him going about life in peculiar ways, drawing in concerns from his colleague, Dr. Phil Rhodes (Harrison Ford).
We’ll trail alongside Jimmy as he continues seeing his clients (you know, because he’s a therapist) and his new clinical method he practices with them: Being honest. Breaking the rules of traditional therapy, Jimmy now gives his clients only his blunt opinions as advice. Ironically, it seems to work. (On both his clients and himself!)
