The sum of N386,192,122 has been budgeted by the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs for the establishment of nutrition department, purchase of utility vehicles  and the African First Ladies’ Peace Mission Project.

This is contained in the 2024 Appropriation Bill made available by the Budget Office of the Federation on Wednesday.

According to the document, out of the sum, N230m was earmarked for purchasing utility vehicles, N77.3m for establishing the nutrition department, and N78.8m for the African First Ladies’ Peace Mission Project.

Recall that the President, Bola Tinubu, had on Wednesday, November 29, presented the ‘Renewed Hope Budget’ to a joint session of the National Assembly.

Based on findings by our correspondent, it was discovered that the Ministry had before now, awarded the sum of N90.3m for the establishment of the nutrition department in the 2023 budget.

Our correspondent also found out that the 2024 budget of N78.8m for the First Ladies’ mission is the least in four years, and this was after the Ministry had awarded N500m in 2020, N225m in 2021, N500m in 2022 and N151.6m in 2023.
