Ibadan explosion: Makinde facilitates post-traumatic stress disorder treatment for victims

The Oyo State Government says it has set up a facility to tackle post-traumatic stress disorder among survivors of the recent explosion that rocked the Bodija area of Ibadan.

In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, the State Governor, Seyi Makinde said the victims are free to see the medical specialist at the Emergency Operation Centre located at the state Housing Corporation in Bodija.

PUNCH Healthwise reported that five people died, while 77 sustained varying degrees of injuries due to the explosion.

Also badly damaged were 58 houses and other infrastructure.

The governor stated, “Survivors of the Bodija incident who may be experiencing any respiratory illness or symptoms suggestive of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder should please call 09047190962 to register their complaints. The State Government has made it possible for such persons to see a medical specialist.

“A facility has been created for this purpose at the state Housing Corporation, Bodija (where the Emergency Operation Centre is situated). Please note that this number is for health-related complaints only.”
