The General Hospital, Otun Ekiti, in the Moba Local Government area of Ekiti State, has received 29 ultra-modern single crank beds and other donations from a diaspora group, Egbe Omo Otun Abroad, to help tackle equipment deficit and ensure good healthcare services to the people.

The group’s President, Alhaji Tiamiyu Salau, who was represented by the immediate past president, Dr Abiodun Orisasona, at the presentation of items to the hospital on Friday, said the intervention followed a critical shortage of basic amenities at the general hospital.

According to him, after considering the impact of such lack on members of the community seeking medical care, the association knew immediate action must be taken.

He added, “The items included 20 ultra-modern single crank beds, designed for optimal patients’ comfort and ease of care, 20 matching bedside cabinets providing essential storage and convenience and 20 high-quality mattresses and pillows, ensuring proper support and rest for patients.

“Others are 105 sets of crisp bed sheets, fostering an environment of dignity and care, two units of Sphygmomanometers for blood pressure monitoring, two units of baby weight machines for accurate weight measurement and five units of baby cribs with 20 sets of bed sheets, providing a safe and comfortable space for our children.”
