Bo Nix new favorite to win, passes Jayden Daniels

After Oregon’s Bo Nix and Washington’s Michael Penix Jr. battled in a thrilling Pac-12 Conference Championship Game on Friday in Las Vegas, another QB zoomed to the top of the odds list to win the Heisman Trophy.

LSU’s Jayden Daniels is the heavy favorite to win the Heisman at -1450 (bet $10 to win $10.69 total).

Daniels started the week at +105 (bet $10 to win $20.50 total).

Daniels won’t play again prior to Heisman votes being due Monday.

By beating Nix and the Ducks twice this season, Penix is second on the Heisman odds list at +1000.

Penix was third at +1600 prior to the Pac-12 title game.

Nix’s Heisman odds tumbled from -130 (bet $10 to win $17.69 total) to +2000 after the Ducks lost to the Huskies for the third time in a row and second time this season (Washington won 37–34 on Nov. 12, 2022).

Daniels won the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award on Thursday, which is presented to the quarterback who best exemplifies character, scholastic and athletic achievement.

In his latest bowl projections, FOX Sports’ Bryan Fischer predicts Daniels and the Tigers will play Notre Dame in the ReliaQuest Bowl on Jan. 1.

On the season, Daniels is 236-for-327 passing (72.2%) for 3,812 yards, 40 touchdowns and four interceptions. He also has 135 carries for 1,134 yards (8.4 per carry) and 10 rushing touchdowns.

The senior is the only player in Football Bowl Subdivision history to pass for 12,000 yards and rush for 3,000 yards in his career. Daniels has 12,749 passing yards and 3,307 rushing yards heading into the bowl game.

Daniels is also the only player in FBS history to rush for 200 yards and pass for 350 yards in a game, a feat he accomplished against Florida on Nov. 11, setting the SEC record for total offense with 606 total yards (234 rushing, 372 passing) against the Gators.
