Police seek ‘urgent assistance’ to find ‘high-risk’ missing 61yo woman on the Gold Coast

Police are searching for two people on the Gold Coast this morning after a woman in her 60s went missing from her home, leaving behind a large amount of blood.

Emergency services were called to the home on Ironbark St at Elanora just after 3.30pm on Tuesday after reports of a fire at the address. 

It took crews about 20 minutes to extinguish the blaze.

Soon after police issued a plea for urgent assistance to locate the 61-year-old Gold Coast woman and a 30-year-old man, who is related to her, who may be able to assist with their inquiries into the incident.

The man is Caucasian, 180cm tall with brown hair and a slim build.

He is is believed to be travelling in a blue Honda Jazz, with registration 952AT4. 

Police sources said a large amount of blood was found at the property and a fire was lit inside the home.

A window at the property was also broken.
