Oppo has said that its Reno 12 Series 5G phones, Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro smartphones, will feature cutting-edge AI features as the phone maker gears up for the global launch of the two devices.
At the AI conference in London on June 5, Oppo unveiled the AI features of the Reno 12 Series 5G. These features includes AI Portrait, AI Linkboost, AI Toolbox, AI Writer, and AI Recording Summary, with the aim of reaching 50 million users by the end of the year.
In a strategic move towards future AI-driven smartphones, Oppo also announced collaborations with industry giants such as Google, MediaTek, and Microsoft. After a successful debut in China in May 2024, Oppo confirmed that the Reno 12 Series will soon be available in various global markets. Additionally, the brand announced the global launch of the Find X flagship lineup.
While specific timelines for the global launches were not disclosed, Oppo assured that the devices will be available soon.
In terms of specifications, the Oppo Reno 12 is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8250 Star Speed Edition SoC, while the Reno 12 Pro features a 9200+ Star Speed Edition. Both phones come with a 5000mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC charging, a 6.7-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and 1.5k curved OLED screens protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Additionally, they offer a 50MP camera capacity for both front and rear cameras and are available in silver and purple color options.
At its launch in China, the Oppo Reno 12 was priced at CNY 2,699 (about N547,888.57), while the Pro version was priced at CNY 3,399 (about N689,986.38).
