Apple is said to be working on the fourth-generation iPhone SE model. If launched, it will be the fourth model in the SE series after Apple iPhone SE, Apple iPhone SE 2, and Apple iPhone SE 3.

According to news reports, the iPhone SE 4 will be donning the design of the iPhone XR, which was launched way back in 2018. According to popular tech news breaker Jon Prosser, the 4th-gen iPhone SE will have the iPhone XR’s body, which is in line with the previous generations.

The first iPhone SE, which was launched in 2016, had an iPhone 5S-like design. The second-generation iPhone SE, which came alongside the iPhone 11 family, mirrored the design of the iPhone 8. The iPhone 8 design language was carried over to the third-generation SE and is finally being updated for the fourth generation.

The new iPhone SE is expected to feature a 6.1-inch display with a notch cutout at the top. However, according to Apple analyst Ming-Chi, the iPhone SE 4 will also have a side-mounted Touch ID button, like the ones found on the iPad Air and iPad mini. This means, which an IANS report confirmed, that the new SE will not have Face ID like its bigger cousins to keep the cost in check.

The iPhone SE 4 is likely to debut as the only compact phone from Apple’s stable as the company had earlier killed off the iPhone Mini. This, according to some, means that the company might sell it at a higher premium than expected.
