With the release of Android 13 QPR2 Beta 2, dual eSIM functionality appears to have begun to be available for Google Pixel 7 owners. For a while now, the Pixel smartphones have supported using both a single eSIM and a traditional SIM card.

According to this new upgrade, customers will be able to do without real SIM cards and simultaneously use two eSIM profiles. In a few months, the Pixel 7 series should receive reliable dual eSIM functionality. Thus, we may anticipate that more beta testers will soon have this capability.

A beta tester with dual eSIM functionality on their Pixel 7 was observed by Esper Senior Technical Editor Mishaal Rahman (Twitter: @MishaalRahman). According to reports, this handset is using Android 13 QPR2 Beta 2. Other users also stated that their Pixel 7 has dual eSIM functionality turned on.
Rahman thinks the Pixel 7 could have supported dual eSIM profiles from the start. The SIM Manager software that ships with Android 13 QPR2 Beta 2 could have received a server-side update from Google. Prior to now, users could register several eSIM profiles. However, only one of them could be in use at once.

According to earlier rumours, Google Germany intends to introduce dual eSIM functionality for the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro in March 2023. Rahman previously asserted that Google might be developing a new feature that would make it simple for consumers to move an eSIM profile from an old Android phone to a new one.

Users may also be able to change a physical SIM card from an outdated phone to an eSIM by using a new system property. A feature for moving an eSIM profile to a new device is not yet available for Android.
