It was more like a family reunion for President Buhari and his children on Thursday, May 13, at the Presidential Villa.

President Buhari and his wife, Aisha, joined their children to celebrate the Eid-el-Fitr festival.

This came after Buhari observed the prayers at the State House, Abuja.

Nigeria’s first family on Thursday, May 13, joined millions of Muslims in the country to celebrate the Eid el-Fitr festival at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Attendees at the event were President Muhammadu Buhari, the first lady, Aisha Buhari, and some of their children and grandchildren.

Other prominent government officials who were at the Villa for the prayers and celebration were the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, Speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila,

and the National Security Adviser, Babagana Munguno.

Others were national security heads like Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru, Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Zubairu Gambo, the FCT minister, Mohammed Bello, Inspector General of Police,

Usman Alkali Baba, and the Yusuf Bichi, the director-general of the Department of State Services (DSS).

Also present was Sheik Abdulwaheed Sulaiman, the chief Imam of the State House mosque in Abuja. Meanwhile, the speaker of the Lagos state House of Assembly,

Rt.Hon.(Dr.) Mudashiru Obasa, had appealed to Nigerians to see the country’s current challenges as an opportunity to further unite them saying this was a sure way to national progress.
