Amid different corruption controversies deluging the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), minister of Niger Delta Godswill Akpabio has paid a peace meeting to the National Assembly (NASS). it could be recalls how the minister was fingered in the corruption mess and shoddy distribution of contracts following a joint investigation by the Senate and the House of Representatives into the commission. However, the minister, while fighting back, opened the can of worms when he said federal lawmakers are the biggest beneficiaries in the shoddy deal perpetrated under NDDC. Akpabio, who is a former senator, on Tuesday, September 15, visited the National Assembly on fence-mending, with the move coming two months after the face-off capped lawsuits.

“I am here(National Assembly) to congratulate the acting CNA for his elevation. . . In any case, I am a senator, so seeing me in the National Assembly should not be a surprise; as a former Minority Leader of the Senate and a senator, I believe I am a senator for life.

”Nobody will refer to me as Governor Akpabio, they will always refer to me as Senator Akpabio so this is a homecoming for me,” the minister said while addressing the pressmen on ground.
