Well, here we are again, delving into the week of Black Friday itself, WIRED’s Gear team has put together this edit of only the best deals already live. Unlike Prime Day, and its sequel in October, Black Friday isn’t just about Amazon though, so expect offers from John Lewis, Currys, Argos, and more too.

Our selection comes from far and wide across the world of tech, from Garmin’s smartwatches and Sony’s televisions to Google’s smartphones and Dyson’s vacuum cleaners. Expect to find true savings from us here at WIRED. There’ll be no touting of discounts from recently raised prices, just actual money off. PlayStation controllers typically don’t see a whole lot of discount so this is a cut that’s particularly welcome. This model comes in Midnight Black, ditching the brighter white colour scheme for something stealthy. A strong option to pad out your controller numbers ahead of any Christmas couch co-op.

Value-for-money titan Anker has whipped up another low cost Bluetooth speaker. The Soundcore 3 offers up to 24-hour playtime, IPX7 waterproofing, and Bluetooth 5.0. PartyCast lets you team this up with other Soundcore speakers and you can choose from Black, Silver, Blue, and Red colour options to suit your setup too.

After the Pixel 5a didn’t hit UK shores and the 4a 5G only flattered to deceive, we’re happy to declare the exciting value-proposition Google A-Series is back firing on all cylinders. The reined in version of Google’s flagship is an easy recommendation at under £300. It offers a solid display, strong performance, refreshing colour options, and impressive camera performance.

The Vivobook range has been a great cheap laptop pick for several years now, with the 14-inch AMD version of this device long being our top choice in the category. This 15-inch Intel model is down to an impressively low price. You are getting an older processor, Intel’s 2-year old 10th generation, but alongside 8-GB RAM and 256-GB SSD, this remains a good pick for those just looking to browse the web and word-processing tasks.

Like Apple, Sonos isn’t particularly known for its significant discounts. As such, £39 off for Black Friday is a pleasant surprise. This version of the Roam, the company’s first Bluetooth speaker, ditches smart assistant tech for those who’d rather not indulge in your “Alexa” and “Hey, Google” chats. It’s not the cheapest speaker but, with a 9/10, WIRED Recommends review given for its portable design, big sound, and water-resistance chops, it’s worth a look.

Apple got fitness-serious with its Watch Ultra launch recently but Garmin has been all up in the hardcore training game for many years now. The Fenix 6 Pro is chock-full of features to accurately track extreme adventuring, from oxygen activation to training workload and distance planning. High-end Garmins typically don’t come cheap but a hefty £150+ off here makes the price more palatable.

Hisense is one of the best in the game for low-cost 4K TVs and this Black Friday deal fits right into that bracket too. To save you from spending several hundred pounds on a new television, this one has been dropped to just under £250. For your money, you get a 43-Inch 4K display with Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and HDR10 all on-board.

Some streaming sticks from the likes of Amazon and Roku are stunningly cheap, including this one. For less than £15, you’re getting Roku’s straight-forward interface, with access to all your favourite apps. This low-low price doesn’t get you 4K though. Look at the Roku Express 4K (£30) for that upgrade.

Gaming laptop pricing can soar into thousands so nabbing this mid tier performer, with an RTX 3070 onboard, for just over a grand is a promising proposition. For your cash, you get an AMD Ryzen 7 processor, 16-GB RAM, 512-GB SSD, and that RTX 3070 all packed in. The display is only Full HD, rather than a higher 1440p option, but you do get a decent 165Hz refresh rate too.

Sony has another hit on its hands. With the XM5 (9/10, WIRED Recommends), it has redesigned its already excellent wireless headphone series to impressive ends. In his WIRED review, audio expert Simon Lucas called these “light and comfortable” and “accomplished sound in pretty much every respect.” High praise indeed. At under £300 in the run up to Black Friday, the appeal to snap up these quality cans gets a boost.

We’ll immediately apologise for this paltry discount but, with Apple products rarely reduced (especially newly released ones), you take what you can get. The new AirPods Pro weren’t a huge reinvention but, instead, a smart upgrade of audio and features. A neat £10 off probably won’t have you jumping on these if you didn’t already plan to acquire Apple’s latest buds, but it sweetens the deal anyhow.

If you’re a fan of the 360-hinge category of devices, few nail the tablet mode better than Samsung’s 2-in-1. It’s a thin device that’s comfortable to hold when folded and the S Pen, like with its phones, is excellent. With a large bottom bezel, it isn’t the most modern looking device and the trackpad isn’t up there with the best of them—but, at £599, you’re getting plenty for your money.

Sony’s headphone expertise extends beyond its over-ears to its wireless earbuds too. The XM4 (7/10, WIRED Recommends) don’t quite hit the heights of the WH-1000XM4 though, with fiddly touch controls and a fit that may be too big for some. However, you do get strong noise cancelling, impressive, sound quality, and industry-topping battery life.

If a large screen Nintendo Switch upgrade was on your radar, this might sway you. This bundle with the revamped OLED model and new Pokemon Scarlet game has had a decent reduction. The 7-Inch OLED display brings a greater immersive feel to the handheld and there’s an improved stand too—we can attest that the one of the OG Switch was a nightmare.

Anker is our go-to brand for battery packs, cables, and the like so this cheap as chips charger is an easy recommendation. It’s a good travel companion with its slim build and 10,000mAh charge, which should accommodate around 1-3 full top-ups of your smartphone depending on your device of choice.

Dyson vacs aren’t typically the cheapest vacuums you can buy, so a discount of over £100 is more than welcome. This Detect Slim model is equipped with an angled beam to help illuminate dust and dirt you may have otherwise missed. There’s an LCD screen that gives you all the info on your current cleaning sesh, and you’ll also be getting up to 60 minutes of runtime here.

This isn’t the biggest TV to take advantage of crisp OLED tech but, if you’re pushed for space, it remains a viable option. You get one of LG’s impressive 4K OLED evo panels, Dolby Vision IQ, and Dolby Atmos all onboard. For gamers, there’s HDMI 2.1, 0.1ms response time, and low input lag.

This luxe speaker from B&O might not quite represent the value many are looking for on Black Friday, but it’s one of the best-looking and well-built Bluetooth speakers around. On top, the sound is top drawer too, with punchy bass and rich detail. It’s a stylish addition to your home and its audio certainly won’t let you down.

This Sony TV is a great option for those looking to dive into OLED panel technology without having to break the bank. At under £1,000, you’re getting a colorful and contrasty OLED display with a 4K resolution, HDR, and Google TV onboard. There’s HDMI 2.1 too, for getting the most out of your games consoles.

Pod coffee machines are speedy ways to get a half-decent cup. Nespresso’s Vertuo series features 30 different blends, to hunt down your favoured taste, and this machine allows for five variations of cup size too. At almost half price as well as the ability to heat up in 30 seconds to quickly deliver your coffee, it’s a decent proposition.
